NFPA-APSEI Fire & Security 2012
NFPA and the Portuguese Security Association (APSEI) hosted the NFPA-APSEI Fire & Security 2012 event from December 3 -5 in Estoril, Portugal. This was the third time NFPA and APSEI came together to promote fire safety, security, disaster management, and workplace safety best practices.
Over the course of three days at Estoril’s Convention Center, and with “Safety and Security Trends and Technologies” as the main theme, more than 1300 participants were able to attend 56 conference education sessions and panels, as well as 5 technical seminars conducted by Portuguese and international experts. An exhibition area with more than 20 exhibitors also allowed professionals to discover new products and solutions.
The opening session was led in part by Chris Dubay, NFPA's Vice President of Codes & Standards. He also spoke about NFPA’s wildfire initiative on the third day of the conference. Sultan Javeri, NFPA's Regional Director for Europe, provided a 20 hour training course on NFPA 13: Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems.
