NFPA 1561: Document Scope
1.1* Scope. This standard contains the minimum requirements for an incident management system to be used by emergency services to manage all emergency incidents.
This standard contains the requirements to be used by emergency services for the structure and operations of an incident management system and the principles of command safety that are to be incorporated into all incidents, training or emergency, to ensure the safety of emergency responders and others on the scene of an incident. What does NFPA 1561 address?
Criteria cover operating procedures for managing both routine and unusual incidents, system components that support emergency service personnel, and descriptions of the roles and responsibilities of the incident commander and other members of the response team. Topics include system implementation, risk management, resources, accountability, command structure, communications, training and staffing, and command safety.
