NFPA 276: Document Scope
1.1 Scope. This standard specified the basic training procedures for fire service personnel to conduct fire fighter rapid intervention operations. 1.1.1 This standard specifies basic evolutions that can be adapted to local conditions and serves as a standard mechanism for the evaluation on minimum acceptable performance during training for rapid intervention activities.
This standard describes a method for determining the heat release rate from below the deck of roofing assemblies that have combustible above-deck roofing components when the assemblies are exposed to a fire from below the roof deck. Official document scope
What does NFPA 276 address?
Two fire tests are conducted to determine the heat release rate of the test specimen: 1) a fire exposure test, which consists of developing a flue time-temperature curve based on the combined burning of the test specimen and the fire exposure and 2) an evaluation test that determines the contribution of the test specimen by introducing an auxiliary fuel (propane) through evaluating burners in addition to the heptane-fired main burners.
