What is NFPA 35?
NFPA 35: Document Scope
1-1.1 This standard shall apply to facilities that use flammable and combustible liquids, as herein defined, to manufacture organic coatings for automotive, industrial, institutional, household, marine, printing, transportation, and other applications. 1-1.2 This standard shall not apply to the following: (1)* Operations involving the use or application of coating materials (2)* Storage of organic coatings in locations other than the manufacturing facility.
This standard provides requirements to protect lives and property from fire and explosion in facilities that use flammable and combustible liquids to manufacture organic chemical-based coatings such as paints and inks for automotive, industrial, institutional, household, marine, printing, transportation, and other applications.
