NFPA 274: Standard Test Method to Evaluate Fire Performance Characteristics of Pipe Insulation, 2009 Edition
| Description | Table of Contents | Quantity Discounts |
Use results from the 2009 NFPA 274 to help you select pipe insulation assemblies that contribute less heat, flame, and smoke in fire scenarios.
The 2009 NFPA 274: Standard Test Method to Evaluate Fire Performance Characteristics of Pipe Insulation determines the heat release and smoke generation of pipe insulation and pipe insulation assemblies under controlled laboratory conditions. A method is provided for an examination of the complete insulation assembly including elbows in an actual end use configuration.
This updated Standard edition contains a new requirement for quantifiable temperature measurement at the top of the test apparatus chase using thermocouples rather than a subjective observation of the presence of flames. Other minor changes clarify committee intent. (Softbound, 13 pp., 2009)
