Introduction to Electricity Self-Guided Online Course

| Item # DL072 |
| Description | Terms & Specifications |
This self-paced online course covers the fundamentals of the direct current (DC) circuits that are commonly used in fire alarm systems. This course also explains two common methods to calculate voltage drop, the End of Line Method and Load Averaging Method. It covers the Load-by-Load Method as well.
Upon completion you should be able to:
- Apply Ohm's Law and calculate voltage and voltage drop in circuits
- List the methods by which resistance in a circuit can be calculated
- Understand the relationship between voltage, resistance and amperage
- Understand the consequences of using wiring that is not large enough to carry the power of the circuit
Who Will Benefit:
Anyone whose job involves designing, reviewing, evaluating or installing fire protection systems, including: designers, installers, engineers, electrical contractors, technicians, project managers, fire marshals, and architects.
Continuing Education Credit:
Complete this module and qualify for .1 CEUs. Upon successful completion of a course, participants will be prompted to download the CEU certificate directly from the course site.
Please verify applicability with your professional board before registering.
