The theme for Fire Prevention Week 2010 will be announced on June 1, 2010.

"Stay Fire Smart! Don’t Get Burned" was the theme of Fire Prevention Week 2009. We hope your campaign was successful and rewarding. Questions or comments?

Start planning your 2010 FPW campaign now!

June

 Develop a planning team that includes: fire department personnel, local SAFE KIDS coalition, other safety advocates, funders, local businesses, school representatives, media, hardware and home center stores and other retailers.
 Determine what activities will be conducted in your community and how planning responsibilities will be divided among team members.

July   Begin contacting local retailers to support FPW. 
August

 Finalize plans with donors and sponsors who are supporting FPW.
 Contact NFPA to order your FPW materials.

September 

 Hang the FPW banner outside your fire station, town hall or other community building. Make copies of FPW lesson plans for teachers.
 Prepare press materials and send them to the local media.

October 
 Conduct your FPW activities...and have fun!
