		Sparky TV See Sparky as you have never seen him before: as a puppet! The lovable—and very fire-smart—puppet has his own television channel. Check out Sparky's music video, tips on outside meeting places, the sound of the smoke alarm and more.
		Sparky goes Hollywood The issue of fire safety got a little dose of Hollywood glamour at the American Humane Association's "Hero Dog Award" ceremonies in Los Angeles. Sparky was the "official spokesdog" of the event, and got to walk the red carpet, meet with national media, and hobnob with celebrities, including Betty White.
		Fire trucks on Sparky’s website Sparky's web site features the “All about fire trucks” section for children. Play games in the Arcade: “Follow the Sounds,” which reinforces listening and sequencing skills; “Color a Truck” which encourages children to use their imagination; and the “Put Out the Fire” game that requires skill and critical thinking.

		The life of Sparky By NFPA's Steve Dornbusch NFPA’s spokesdog celebrated his 60th birthday in 2011. Since my job is Senior Project Manager for Public Education Products, his birthday was a pretty big deal for me. Sparky’s image, messages, and personality are very important.

Sparky the Fire Dog was created for NFPA in 1951 and has been the organization’s official mascot and spokesdog ever since. He is a widely recognized fire safety icon that is beloved by children and adults alike. Millions have learned about fire safety through educational lessons and materials featuring his image and he is more active than ever today. Sparky frequently visits schools and participates in community events to spread fire safety messages, often accompanied by his firefighter friends. In addition to connecting with the public through public service announcements and his featured role in Fire Prevention Week campaigns each October, he has a very active website, www.sparky.org and a Facebook page that was launched in 2011 as part of his 60th anniversary celebration.
