2013 FPW banner

The goal of Fire Prevention Week is to protect all families, especially those at the highest risk. In this section provides resources for reaching those at highest risk to fire deaths and injuries, including: instructions on how to conduct an open house for older adults, activities for reaching immigrant populations, and a FPW lesson plan for adults with developmental disabilities.

In this Section:

Adapted kitchens
It's important that the kitchen be accessible to individuals with a wide range of physical abilities.
Teaching people with intellectual disabilities
Provide fire safety education to people with intellectual disabilities.

Easy-to-read in other languages
Handouts to reach immigrant populations in your community with important fire safety and escape information. Handouts are in easy-to-read format with culturally specific illustrations.
