New publication can help make your community firewise
From coast to coast, an estimated 30,000 communities are at risk from wildland fire. NFPA's Protecting Life and Property from Wildfire provides community leaders and the fire service with the tools required to understand this complex problem and work together to mitigate risks.

In this publication, recognized wildland/urban interface experts present a comprehensive program for protecting lives and property. This informative text outlines U.S. agencies and programs that have wildfire responsibilities and provides sample state firewise implementation plans, case studies, and mitigation initiatives. It also includes firewise construction and landscaping checklists and dramatic illustrations depicting wildfires and their aftermath.
