1.1 Scope. This recommended practice provides basic procedures and information for use in fire department operations concerning properties equipped with certain fixed fire protection systems. The fixed systems covered in this recommended practice are interior automatic sprinkler systems, exterior sprinkler systems, and standpipe systems.
This recommended practice provides information and procedures for fire department operations in properties equipped with fire sprinkler and standpipe systems.
Criteria apply to interior automatic sprinkler system, exterior sprinkler systems, and standpipe systems and are designed to help fire department develop training programs and plan effective fire suppression operations. Specific topics include pre-incident planning, ventilation in storage occupancies, water supply for fire fighting, impairments, reliability of systems, buildings under construction, and inspection and testing requirements.
