What is NFPA 14?

1.1 Scope. 1.1.1 This standard covers the minimum requirements for the installation of standpipes and hose systems. 1.1.2* This standard does not cover requirements for periodic inspection, testing, and maintenance of these systems. A.1.1.2 See NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems.

NFPA 14 provides requirements for the installation of standpipes and hose systems to ensure that systems will work as intended to deliver adequate and reliable water supplies in a fire emergency.
