What is NFPA 70A?
NFPA 70A: Document Scope
Covers electric conductors and equipment installed within or on public and private buildings or other structures, including mobile homes and recreational vehicles and other premises such as yards, carnivals, parks and other lots and industrial substations; conductors that connect the installations to a supply of electricity; and other outside conductors on the premises.
Created for electrical installers, contractors, electricians, inspectors, and builders who specialize in residential wiring, this document is a compilation of electrical provisions for one- and two-family dwellings that have been excerpted from the National Electrical Code®. What does NFPA 70A address?
Requirements cover wiring and protection; wiring methods and materials; equipment for general use such as lighting fixtures, appliances, fixed electric space-heating equipment, and generators; mobile homes; and special equipment including swimming pools, solar photovoltaic systems, and fuel cell systems. Criteria are also presented for optional standby systems, fire alarm systems, remote-control systems, and communications systems.
