What is NFPA 1201?
NFPA 1201: Document Scope

1.1* Scope. This standard contains requirements on the structure and operations of fire emergency service organizations (FESOs). A.1.1 Fire and emergency service organizations provide a myriad of services to the community. Public fire protection services can include, but are not limited to, fire suppression, fire prevention, public life safety education, emergency management, rescue, emergency medical service, hazardous materials response, response to other emergencies, and law enforcement (e.g., incident investigation, code application enforcement).

This standard contains requirements on the structure and operations of fire emergency service organizations (FESOs) to help protect lives, property, critical infrastructure, and the environment from the effects of hazards.
