What does NFPA 221 address?
Provisions apply to walls that are required to separate buildings or subdivide a building to prevent fire spread. The minimum fire resistance rating of a wall assembly is outside NFPA 221's scope. Topics include double wall assemblies, cantilevered fire walls, opening protectives, ducts and air transfer openings, continuity, and clearance.
