What is NFPA 407?
NFPA 407: Document Scope
1.1 Scope. This standard applies to the fuel servicing of all types of aircraft using liquid petroleum fuel. It does not apply to any of the following: (1) In-flight fueling (2) Fuel servicing of flying boats or amphibious aircraft on water (3) Draining or filling of aircraft fuel tanks incidental to aircraft fuel system maintenance operations or manufacturing

What does NFPA 407 address?
Design requirements include aircraft fueling, aircraft fueling hose, fuel servicing vehicles, airport fuel systems, self-service aircraft fueling, fueling at rooftop heliports, and non-driven hydrant carts. Among operational issues covered are prevention and control of spills, emergency fuel shutoff, electrical equipment used on aircraft servicing ramps, aircraft fuel servicing locations, defueling, and loading of aircraft fuel servicing tank vehicles.
