What is NFPA 424?
NFPA 424: Document Scope
1.1 Scope. This guide describes the elements of an airport/community emergency plan that require consideration before, during, and after an emergency has occurred. The scope of the airport/community emergency plan should include command, communication, and coordination functions for executing the Plan. Throughout this document, the airport/community emergency plan will be referred to as the “Plan.”

What does NFPA 424 address?
Recommendations cover how to plan for emergencies using personnel from all concerned agencies, and how to establish adequate emergency training programs. Topics include roles and responsibilities of each agency involved for both on-airport and off-airport aircraft accidents, airborne emergencies, communications, command and coordination, emergency medical care, care of fatalities, and plan exercises and drills.
