NFPA 790: Document Scope
1.1 Scope. 1.1.1 Establishing Competence. 1.1.1.1 The provisions of this standard shall address requirements for the qualification and competency of a body performing field evaluations on electrical products and assemblies with electrical components.
Installed electrical equipment that has not been previously certified, listed, recognized, or classified undergo a "field evaluation" to ensure compliance.
