Committee member access on the Doc Info Pages

The Document Information Pages located on NFPA’s website provide one central location to view all document specific information about our codes and standards.  The public can view documents that were once only accessible to committee members and committee members, just by signing-in, can access both the public and private documents in a fast, convenient way in one consolidated location.  A sign-up feature is available to receive an email notification (alert) when any new information is posted on a particular code or standard.

Committee Members: To access your private technical committee information on the document information pages, sign in at NFPA.org (upper left gray box on this page), go to your specific document page at nfpa.org/doc# (Example: http://www.nfpa.org/101). Once signed-in, you will be able to view both the public and private technical committee information for your particular document(s). Private information is displayed with a red asterisk after the title. 

Each Document Information Page is displayed with six main resource tabs:

  • About: Contains general document and subject-related information.  View the current document scope, table of contents, articles, research and statistical reports, and the latest codes and standards news and information on the NFPA Today blog.

  • Current & Prior Editions:  Contains information on the current and prior editions of a document.  View issued Tentative Interim Amendments, Formal Interpretations, and Errata, along with archived revision information such as meeting and ballot information, First Draft Reports (previously ROPs), Second Draft Reports (previously ROCs), and Standards Council decisions.

  • Next Edition: Contains information on the next revision cycle and follows the committee’s progress in the processing of the document.  View information such as the revision cycle schedule, posting and closing dates, links to the electronic submission system for public input and public comment, First Draft Report and Second Draft Report, meeting and ballot information, Standards Council decisions, and NITMAM information.   Committee members also access private documents such as ballot circulations, informational ballots, and additional committee information.

  • Technical Committee: Contains the committee member rosters, committee scope and responsibility, classification of committee members, committees seeking members, online committee membership application.  Committee members also access private committee lists (with phone and email addresses), committee documents (codes & standards) in PDF format, and general information applicable to all committee members such as resource links to the Regulations and other policies.

  • Technical questions:  Provides members and Public Sector Officials/AHJs a way to submit questions about codes and standards directly to NFPA staff. Our Technical Questions Service provides a convenient way to receive timely and consistent technical assistance when needing to know more about NFPA codes and standards. Written responses are provided by NFPA staff on an informal basis.

  • Products/training: List of NFPA’s related publications and training and other resources available for purchase.
