Association Technical Meeting
Under NFPA rules, anyone wishing to make an allowable amending motion at an NFPA Association Technical Meeting must declare their intentions by filing, within the published deadline, a Notice of Intent to Make a Motion (NITMAM). The Motions Committee of the NFPA Standards Council reviews each NITMAM to determine whether the intended motion is a proper motion. Proposed NFPA documents will be presented for action at the Association Technical Meeting only when the NITMAM has been certified by the Motions Committee. Documents that receive no motions will not be presented at the meeting and instead will be forwarded directly to the NFPA Standards Council for issuance. Read the Report of the Motions Committee (PDF, 65 KB) that addresses documents in the Fall 2009 Revision Cycle.
The following seven NFPA documents from the Fall 2009 Revision Cycle will be considered at the Association Technical Meeting at the NFPA Conference & Expo:
- NFPA 18, Standard on Wetting Agents
- NFPA 45, Standard on Fire Protection for Laboratories Using Chemicals
- NFPA 53, Recommended Practice on Materials, Equipment, and Systems Used in Oxygen-Enriched Atmospheres
- NFPA 214, Standard on Water-Cooling Towers

- NFPA 409, Standard on Aircraft Hangars
- NFPA 505, Fire Safety Standard for Powered Industrial Trucks Including Type Designations, Areas of Use, Conversions, Maintenance, and Operations
Where a Document in the Fall 2009 Revision Cycle receives no Notice of Intent to Make a Motion (NITMAM), or receives NITMAMs which are not certified as amending motions by the Motions Committee, the focument is considered a "Consent Document", which is not presented to the Association Technical Meeting and is forwarded directly to the Standards Council for issuance.
