Wildland Fire Operations Division Field Office
The Wildland Fire Operations Division Field Office promotes NFPA’s activities and programs related to wildland fire and safety mitigation. It supports NFPA’s Firewise Communities/USA Recognition and Firewise Communities Programs, in addition to major initiatives including the Fire Adapted Communities Program, the application of wildland fire codes and standards, research projects, community outreach and membership, and represents NFPA at major wildfire related conferences and events.
Dave Nuss Division Manager
Wildland Fire Operations Division, Denver Office
Dave manages all of NFPA’s wildland fire activities, including the well-known Firewise Communities program, and national and international outreach and advocacy for wildfire issues. Previously he served 10 years as the NFPA Denver Regional Manager. Prior to work at NFPA, Dave worked as a career firefighter and progressed through the ranks to deputy chief; he has over 22 years of service in Colorado and Oregon.
Molly Mowery
Program Manager, Fire Adapted Communities & International Outreach
Wildland Fire Operations Division, Denver Office
Molly is the Division lead for the Fire Adapted Communities Program and international outreach initiative. She also provides technical support on Firewise and related issues to communities, states and other wildfire safety advocates, and presents on planning and development-related topics. Molly completed a master’s degree in city planning from MIT and focused her thesis on wildfire and planning in the Front Range region of Colorado.
Cathy Prudhomme
Associate Project Manager, Wildland Fire Youth Education
Wildland Fire Operations Division, Denver Office
Cathy manages Firewise and wildfire safety educational programs and products for a variety of youth audiences. Before NFPA, she was the manager for community preparedness with the Colorado Department of Public Safety, and the Colorado Springs Fire Department where she focused on Firewise outreach and public education. Cathy earned her B.A. in communications and marketing from the University of Colorado.

Aron Anderson
Associate Project Manager, Fire Adapted Communities
Wildland Fire Operations Division, Denver Office
Aron will assist NFPA in providing technical support of its FAC web content, conducting research and developing and providing technical training. Before coming to NFPA, Anderson worked as a resource support analyst for the North Central All-Hazards Region in Colorado and as a research intern for the Adams County (CO) Office of Emergency Management. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Northern Colorado and was awarded numerous incident management system training certifications from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Emergency Management Institute.
