“The Big Test” is an acrobatic, comedy show in which a cast of characters goes through a series of hysterical antics as they try to become firefighters. During the show the cast reinforces two key fire safety messages for children and families: make sure you have working smoke alarms and develop and practice a home fire escape plan.

Winner of "The Big Test" video contest
In 2012, NFPA and LEGOLAND® Florida asked people to submit videos of their families and friends giving their best rendition of the theme song, "Put the Wet Stuff on the Hot Stuff" from The Big Test show at LEGOLAND. Members of the public were able to vote once per day to help select a winner among our 10 finalists -- and they received over 10,000 votes ongratulations to the contest winner, Kathleen Marler and her family. Their video "Call 9-1-1" earned them the grand prize which included LEGOLAND Florida two-day multi-park tickets for four people, two nights of hotel accommodations for four people, and $2,000 towards travel expenses.
NFPA kicks off partnerships in California, Florida
NFPA launched a fire-safety partnership with LEGOLAND® California at an event on February 22, 2013.
On February 23, 2012, NFPA kicked off its long-term partnership with LEGOLAND® Florida to provide lifesaving information to families and kids during a press event and special fire safety day at central Florida's newest theme park.
About the partnership
In addition to The Big Test sponsorship and messaging, NFPA will be working with LEGOLAND throughout the year to spread fire safety information. There will be a particular emphasis during October as part of Fire Prevention Week activities. The partnership also includes park discounts that will be available during the duration of the partnership for NFPA members and friends and firefighters as part of a firefighter appreciation program.
LEGOLAND® Florida opened on October 15, 2011 and is a 150-acre interactive theme park dedicated to families with children between the ages of 2 and 12.
