High challenge warehouse protection to be featured

January 12, 2010 – The Fire Protection Research Foundation will be hosting SUPDET 2010, the 14th annual technical working conference on suppression, detection and signaling research and applications, in Orlando, Fl., February 16 through 19. Professionals working in the areas of fire detection, suppression and signaling will join together to share new information, innovations, and updates on ongoing research. Research is applied to real-world applications as symposium attendees explore new documentation in designs, approvals, and codes.

The Fire Protection Research Foundation is an affiliate of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

This year’s program (PDF, 30 KB) will bring research from 34 compelling projects into practice, including the following program features:

  • An engineering workshop on innovative fire protection design concepts for high challenge warehouses and other suppression detection sessions on the topic.
  • A special session on research at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.
  • New smoke alarm studies from U.S. and international research organizations.

Other symposium topics include:  mass notification, the human dimension of emergency communication, developments in extinguishing mechanisms, emerging technologies, and unique applications.
