New free mobile application also available
June 2, 2010 – Attendees and non-attendees alike may now participate in the NFPA Conference & Expo anytime and anywhere, through the new NFPA Virtual Conference and the free mobile application. Virtual Conference allows users to view 30 out of 130 popular conference sessions, recorded live, streamed on-demand, and audio-synced to PowerPoint, at their convenience. The mobile application provides a list of education sessions, speaker and exhibitor information, the NFPA Twitter feed, and more.
Visit the Virtual Conference for the streaming sessions and earn 0.1 continuing education units (CEU) for each 1 hour session watched. Education sessions will be posted 24 to 48 hours after each presentation and will be available for 90 days following the conference. The first sessions will be available for viewing on Tuesday, June 8. Alternatively, users may receive a USB flash drive with all 30 sessions. No CEUs will be awarded for viewing these sessions.
Paid NFPA conference attendees will receive special discount pricing for the Virtual Conference. All sessions that are included in the Virtual Conference will be displayed with special signage within the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
To download the free mobile application using your Smartphone, visit the iTunes App Store, Android Market, or Blackberry App World and search for “NFPA C&E.” When using any other mobile phone, download the application directly from your mobile browser.
