Challenges and solutions related to the increasing wildfire problem are explored
October 20, 2011 – The 2011 October special bonus issue of NFPA Journal®, the official magazine of the National Fire Protection Association, addresses the increasing problem of wildland fires and the challenges we face. The cover story, Working Together, details ways that NFPA is working to reduce wildfire losses through a series of worldwide partnerships, research endeavors and community practices, and confirms its mission of saving lives and property on an international scale. Other topics of the wildland fire safety issue include the Firewise® Communities Program, international partners, the fire service, environmental issues, standards development and emergency management.
