NFPA's Three-Year Longitudinal Evaluation
In 1998, NFPA began a three-year longitudinal study to track and evaluate
Risk Watch implementations in six communities:
A "Champion"
from each community agreed to form a community coalition, pilot each module
of Risk Watch in local classrooms, and collect pre/post-test scores and
other data. That information was gathered and analyzed by Interwest Applied
Research,
an independent market research firm, to evaluate Risk Watch over a three-year
period. Here are the final results of the study, as well as reports from the
first
two years, and evaluation forms that can be used to measure the impact of the
Risk Watch in your community.
Additional Evaluations
Organizations and communities throughout North America have either completed
or are now conducting their own evaluations of Risk Watch. Below are results
and/or updates on these independent studies, which reinforce that Risk Watch
is making an impact on students' safety awareness.
If you have conducted an evaluation of Risk Watch and would like to
share the results, please send them on! We'll add them
to the list below so that others can benefit from what you have learned.
