" Be a Risk Watcher" Bulletin Board
Grades 1-2

Bulletin BoardObjective

  • Students will create a bulletin board using safety messages from Risk Watch.

Core Subject Integration

  • Language arts, art, health and safety

Materials

  • one piece of 11" x 17" red, orange or yellow construction paper cut into the pattern of a watch with a 4" diameter face for each student
  • one piece of white paper cut into a circle with a 4"diameter for each student
  • glue
  • markers, crayons, colored pencils
  • pens, pencils

Procedure

  1. Create safety messages and put them in a bag or a hat.  Have each student randomly pick a safety message out of the bag or hat.
  2. Have each student create a picture on the circular piece of paper, illustrating his/her safety message.
  3. Have students glue their safety picture to the center of the watch.
  4. Have students write their safety message on the band of the watch.
  5. Display the watches on a bulletin board title, "Be A Risk Watcher!"
