Fast Fact:
Electrical distribution equipment (i.e., wiring, switches, outlets, cords and plugs, fuse and circuit breaker boxes, lighting fixtures and lamps) was the third leading cause of home fires and the second leading cause of fire deaths in the United States between 1994 and 1998.
NFPA has developed electrical lesson plans for Pre-K/Kindergarten to grade 7/8 for the purpose of teaching kids of all ages to be safe around electricity. These comprehensive lessons will fit in perfectly with teachers already using Risk Watch: Unintentional Injuries in the classroom. Technical review for the lessons was done by The Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFi) in addition to experts at NFPA.
Each lesson plan includes an easy to download PDF of the lesson and all support materials.
NFPA would like to thank ESFi for their support.
