Objectives
To learn about hidden electrical dangers outside.
Preparation
- Review the information in Electrical Information Guide.
- Review the story: "Living to Tell About it, One Man's Story, Cliff Meidl."
Procedure
- Have students read the story.
- Have students discuss the following questions in small groups.
- Describe what happened to Mr. Meidl.
- How many surgeries did he have? How many years did it take before Mr. Meidl could walk without crutches?
- Name one action that might have helped prevent this incident?
- Mr. Meidl lived. Most in his situation either lose limbs or die. If you were Mr. Meidl, how might you have handled the boss' directions?
- How old is Mr. Meidl today? What characteristics does Mr. Meidl exhibit?
- Identify three lessons from this true story?
