For the fire service

This year’s FPW campaign, “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm,” provides an ideal opportunity to educate the public about the importance of having working smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of the home, including the basement. NFPA has everything you need from ready-to-use news releases, safety tips sheets, printouts for open houses, infographics and more. Make sure to check back throughout the summer for new materials. Get started with some resources below.

  • Coffee Time: A Safety Conversation - Hear the Beep Where You Sleep (PDF, 580 KB) is an outline of everything you need for a 30 minutue  discussion about this year's smoke alarm safety message.
  • NFPA and USFA have created an FPW infographic (in PDF or JPG) highlighting the placement of smoke alarms in the home. Place on your website, blogs, Facebook and Twitter. Link to www.nfpa.org/fpw to provide more information for your readers.
