The recipient of the 2012/2013 Percy Bugbee Scholarship is Gregory E. Gorbett. Greg is in his second year of his PhD program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). He holds a B.S. in Forensic Science, and a B.S. in Fire Science, and successfully completed his M.S. in Fire Protection Engineering from WPI in 2010. Professionally, Greg has worked as a Fire and Explosion Analyst, and a Fire and Explosion Investigator. Greg is actively involved in the application of fire protection engineering towards forensic fire scene reconstruction. Greg holds certification as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), Certified Fire Investigator (CFI), as well as certification as a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) through the National Fire Protection Association. Currently his studies include the development and assessment of a decision support framework for enhancing the forensic analysis and interpretation of fire patterns.
