The Standards Medal, highest award given by the NFPA Standards Council, is awarded for outstanding contribution to fire safety in the development of standards prepared by NFPA Technical Committees. Nominations are considered for:

  • Dedication (sincerity to a project)
  • Length of service
  • Leadership of a project or a Technical Committee
  • Volunteerism beyond normal duties of committee membership
  • Respect and admiration of associates and peers
  • Achievement of an outstanding nature
