How do I sign up to attend an NFPA classroom training?

What time should I arrive for an NFPA classroom training?

Registration for training starts at 7:15 am and classes start at 8:00 am.

Can I have NFPA come to my workplace or facility to conduct a classroom training?

Yes. On-site training is the ultimate training experience offered by NFPA. We customize our training programs to meet your specific needs and bring our expert instructors to your site when and where you need it. See more about On-site training  

Are meals provided at NFPA classroom training?
NFPA will provide coffee and tea in the morning and lunch with a beverage of soda or water.

Where can I attend a classroom training?
All locations are listed in our online catalog’s individual course pages. For specific information as to where a class will be held, select the “Location Information” tab.

Do I earn CEUs for attending NFPA classroom training?
You will qualify for 7 hours of 0.7 Continuing Education Units for each full day of instruction. Please verify applicability with your professional board before attending.

NFPA has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

What are the requirements for earning CEUs when attending an NFPA classroom training?
  1. Attend all class sessions
  2. Sign each attendance sheet
  3. Pass a brief post-training quiz
  4. Complete the training evaluation
Can I deduct fees for attending a classroom training on my taxes?
Continuing education expenses for courses to maintain and improve your professional skills may be tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor for applicability.

If I am taking the Certificate of Educational Achievement (CEA) exam do I need to pass a post-classroom training quiz?

Yes, to access your Certificate of Attendance with CEUs you must pass a short post-training quiz and complete the training evaluation. To earn your Certificate of Educational Achievement you must pass the CEA exam.

What are the steps I need to take to print my Certificate of Attendance if I took a classroom training with or without a CEA exam?
  1. Log on to your NFPA Profile and go to "My Training"
  2. Click on the course link for the Classroom Training you just attended
  3. Go to "After the Classroom Training" and complete the post-training quiz
    • You need to score 80% or higher to pass the quiz
    • You will have multiple opportunities to pass the quiz
  4. Complete the training evaluation
  5. Your Certificate of Attendance should now be available for you to print 
How long will I have to take the post-training quiz?

The post-training quiz will be available for 60 days after the conclusion of the training.

How long do I have to complete the CEA?

The CEA exam will be available for 60 days after the conclusion of the training. The CEA exam is not timed, but you will need to complete the exam in one sitting.

What are the steps I need to take to earn and print my Certificate of Educational Achievement?
  1. Log on to your NFPA Profile and go to "My Training"
  2. Click on the course link for the training you just attended
  3. Go to "After the Training"
  4. Successfully complete the CEA exam
    • You need to score 70% or higher to pass the exam
    • You will only have one opportunity to take the exam
  5. Complete the Training Evaluation
  6. The Certificate of Educational Achievement should now be available for you to print

What else is on the online sites associated with the Classroom Training?

There is a lot of information posted on the site for you to review either before or after the training. There is a document on the site called "Navigating the Site" which lists all the information and where it resides.

When will I be able to access the site?

The site will be available 30 days before the start of the training you are attending.

I took and passed the post-training quiz but my certificate of attendance did not show up for me to print.

Make sure you completed the training evaluation. If the certificate still does show up, submit your question online.
