TRAINING THAT HELPS KEEP YOU PROTECTED

Alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) have seen a steady increase in use and popularity over the past two decades, and the future looks even brighter. In response to rising incidents and concerns, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) recently released a report detailing findings that firefighters are at significant risk due to a lack of understanding of electric vehicle (EV) fires. NFPA® has helped educate roughly 250,000 first responders in these critical skill sets, but there are still nearly a million more firefighters nationwide yet to take our NTSB-recommended training. We are coordinating with organizations across the country to raise awareness of AFV hazards and provide access to content and cost-effective instruction for every professional who requires it. In addition to important general information about EVs, this course provides specific knowledge relevant to those who work for utility companies. Utility companies and the people who work for them need to be prepared for this evolution and the impact it will have on their grid infrastructure.

In addition to important general information about EVs, this course provides a deeper dive into specific knowledge relevant to vehicle technicians. As the number of EVs continues to grow, technicians will increasingly be called upon to maintain these vehicles. So, it is critical that these technicians and their shops prepare by receiving specialized training on EVs’ high-voltage systems.

In addition to important general information about EVs, this course provides specific knowledge relevant to crash reconstruction operators. As the number of EVs continues to grow, operators will be required to engage in increasing investigations of EV crashes. This online video education course will provide investigators with the information they need to operate safely around EVs and conduct accident reconstructions while ensuring the safety of the public.
