Published on January 7, 2011
January 7, 2011 – The 2011 January/February issue of NFPA Journal, the official magazine of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), details the steps that are being taken to prepare first responders in the U.S. for an increase in electric vehicles on our roads in the cover story, Our EVs, Ourselves.

Journal staff writer Fred Durso, Jr. looks at the challenges created by the growing electric vehicle wave, and details the NFPA’s newly developed Electric Vehicle Safety Training Project. The training program, which debuted in five cities last year and will roll out across the country in 2011, is aimed at educating first responders on the unique safety issues surrounding these vehicles.
