NVFC Facebook Live Event to Help Fire Departments Engage with Communities for Wildfire Prep Day
Spring is upon us and so is the start of wildfire season in many parts of the country. With Wildfire Community Preparedness Day (Prep Day) a little less than a month away on Saturday, May 1, there’s lots of things individuals and communities can be doing to reduce their risk.
To help fire departments prepare for Prep Day, the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is hosting a Facebook Live event on Wednesday, April 14 at 2pm ET to discuss how departments can engage with their community to promote wildfire mitigation initiatives while still ensuring the health and safety of firefighters and the public.
NFPA Wildfire Division Director, Michele Steinberg, will join NVFC director from Wisconsin, Steve McClintock, and Chief Michael Johnson of the Ebbetts Pass Fire District (Arnold, CA) for a lively and information-packed discussion you won’t want to miss.
Learn about the event by visiting NVFC’s Facebook page. Registration is not required.

Take advantage of some great new resources including a Prep Day toolkit and social media cards to share with residents and to remind them about the risks, and the steps they can take to stay safer from wildfire.
