Compliance Connection

NFPA Journal and NFPA Xchange join forces to offer members access to technical experts

IF YOU'RE AN NFPA MEMBER and you’ve perused NFPA Xchange in the last month, you might have come across Jeff Sargent’s “In-Compliance” column on the National Electrical Code®—the same column that appears in this issue of NFPA Journal.

Starting with this issue, NFPA Journal will post one featured “In Compliance” article to NFPA Xchange, the new online community that connects you to peers and NFPA staff, a full month before the print publication hits the streets. This gives NFPA members exclusive online access to some of our richest code-related content before anyone else, and it also gives them a chance to engage directly with the NFPA expert who wrote it.

Readers are encouraged to write questions for our code expert columnists in the comments box directly at the end of the “In Compliance” column. Then, a few weeks later, the author will answer the best of those reader-submitted questions via an online video we will post on Xchange.

We hope this new format enriches members’ experience with our content, and brings more of our readers onto the Xchange website to communicate with peers and NFPA staff experts about timely issues in fire, electrical, and life safety.

Log onto Xchange starting March 11 to check out Sargent’s answers to your questions from this month’s “In Compliance” column, “Meter Matters,” on NEC® changes designed to protect first responders. And don’t forget to look for the next early access “In Compliance” column coming the first week of April.
