Fire Prevention Week
Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW™) will be observed October 7–13. As the Official Sponsor of FPW™, NFPA offers products, tools, and resources to help fire departments and partner organizations spread the important message of fire safety. The Conference & Expo will feature the official announcement of the 2018 FPW theme, and the NFPA Booth will feature a dedicated FPW resource area.

The Annex: Focus on Suppression

This interactive area is dedicated to providing hands-on learning opportunities, in-depth information on related codes and standards, access to resource materials, and a chance to engage with NFPA Technical Staff.

Active Shooter and/or Hostile Event ResponseTM (ASHERTM) Programs: Lessons Learned and a New Standard
A panel of experts with first-hand ASHER experience will discuss the events that led to the creation of NFPA 3000, Standard for Preparedness and Response to Active Shooter and/or Hostile Events—including lessons learned from the specific events with which they were involved. The discussion will include an explanation of how the Technical Committee was formed, an overview to the content of the standard, and discussion of the roles and responsibilities of those who will be implementing it.
