Most “fire-related injuries” are burns. In fact, approximately every 60 seconds someone in the U.S. sustains a burn injury serious enough to require treatment.*

  • Faces of Fire: This video project of NFPA's Fire Sprinkler Initiative features stories of people impacted by fire and demonstrates the need for home fire sprinklers
  • Learn Not to Burn®: Teaches fire safety to children (preschool to grade 2) using proven strategies that incorporate NFPA's philosophy of using positive, practical messaging.
  • Remembering When™: A free educational program for older adults that centers around basic fire and fall prevention messages.
  • National Burn Awareness Week: Sponsored by the American Burn Association, the first full week in February is designated to provide an opportunity for burn, fire and life safety educators to unite in sharing a common burn awareness and prevention message in our communities.
