This standard helps reduce the safety risks and potential health risks associated with poorly maintained, contaminated, or damaged protective ensembles by specifying requirements to establish a program for the selection, care, and maintenance of utility technical rescue, rescue and recovery technical rescue, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) technical rescue protective ensembles and ensemble elements.
Please note: As part of the Emergency Response and Responder Safety Document Consolidation Plan (consolidation plan) as approved by the NFPA Standards Council, this Standard is slipping cycle and being combined into a new consolidated draft, NFPA 1857. For further information on this consolidated draft, go to NFPA 1857.
