Standard on Protective Clothing and Ensembles for Emergency Medical Operations

This standard specifies requirements for EMS protective clothing to protect personnel performing patient care during emergency medical operations from contact with blood and body fluid-borne pathogens. It also includes additional requirements that provide limited protection from specified CBRN terrorism agents.

Please note:  This Standard is no longer accepting Public Input due to the Emergency Response and Responder Safety Document Consolidation Plan (consolidation plan) as approved by the NFPA Standards Council.  As part of the consolidation plan, this Standard is slipping cycle and being combined into a new consolidated draft, NFPA 1950.  For further information on this consolidated draft, go to NFPA 1950.
