June 5, 2012 – For the first time, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is broadcasting special presentations live online from its annual NFPA Conference & Expo on June 11-14 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Fire and life safety professionals who are unable to attend the conference now have access to the nation’s premier industry event with just a click of a mouse.
On Monday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. PST, NFPA will stream the conference’s General Session live. The event will open with welcoming remarks by NFPA’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Thomas W. Jaeger, PE, followed by the President’s Report by James M. Shannon and the Nominating Committee Report by Peter McMahon. The presentations will give insight into the most important topics in fire and life safety.
In addition to sharing the latest industry information, several awards will be presented to honor special achievements in the field. The awards include the Industrial Fire Protection Section’s Best Fire Prevention Week Program Award, the 2012 Life Safety Educator of the Year Award, The Fire Protection Research Foundation Medal and the Standards Medal. To conclude the broadcasted session, famed impressionist and Las Vegas headliner, Gordie Brown, will provide lively entertainment for NFPA Conference & Expo event attendees and online viewers.
The Opening General Session kicks off the NFPA Conference & Expo that brings together top fire safety experts for the most comprehensive educational event in the industry, offering insight during more than 135 education sessions and 19 in-depth seminars. The Expo will feature more than 330 solution providers showcasing cutting-edge exhibits with the latest technology in fire protection, electrical safety and home security.
